Smart Energy Starts Here: Make the Most of the Cheaper Home Batteries Program with CATCH Control

Updated: 9 hours ago

Big changes are coming to Australian Homes with Solar – and they’re all about giving homeowners more value, more energy independence, and more control.

Starting 1 July 2025, the Australian Government is rolling out the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, a $2.3 billion initiative aimed at slashing battery costs by around 30% for eligible households and small businesses.

So if you’re thinking it’s time to add a battery, make sure you maximise your savings and future-proof your solar setup by adding Catch Control.

What is CATCH Control?

CATCH Control is your home’s energy conductor – orchestrating your solar, battery, hot water and even EV charger to ensure everything works together to maximise your solar savings.

CATCH Control is the brains of your solar system, providing you with a future proof system that will evolve as you continue your home electrification journey.

About the Cheaper Home Batteries Program

From July 2025, eligible homeowners can receive a discount of approximately $372 per kWh of usable battery capacity (up to 50kWh), applied at the point of installation.

To be eligible, you’ll need:

  • A battery between 5kWh and 100kWh

  • A new or existing solar system

  • An accredited installer

  • A system that complies with new VPP and regulatory requirements

This means you could save thousands on the upfront cost of a home battery — and with CATCH Control in place, your system will be ready to plug-and-play when the time comes.

Why Add CATCH Control?

Ready for Batteries & EVs CATCH Control makes it easy to more solar, a battery, or controllable loads such as hot water or an EV charger. All without needing to rip out your existing hardware. It's fully compatible with all major inverter and battery brands.

Smart Load Management with Exclusion Zones Batteries are smart, but they don’t have the ability to identify loads, this means your battery could discharge into other energy hungry loads, like your hot water system or your EV.

With Catch Control’s Exclusion Zone technology, you can exclude heavy loads from draining your battery, preserving your battery for your household loads.

Cluster Control for Multi-Brand Systems Got multiple inverters or a hybrid mix of brands? No problem.

CATCH Control brings all components together with Cluster Control – making your system operate as one, even if it's built from multiple brands, single, split or three-phase. That means better coordination, smarter load control, and a smoother energy experience.

Compliant with New Rules CATCH Control handles dynamic export limits (CSIP-AUS) automatically – no manual config needed. Stay compliant with the latest DNSP and energy market rules now and into the future, and be able to participate in a VPP or wholesale energy plan.

Smarter Solar = Bigger Savings With real-time data, CATCH makes smart decisions about:

  • When to use your Solar

  • When to run connected loads

  • When to top-up your battery

  • When to export to the grid (and when not to)

Bonus: Free Solar Analytics Monitoring

Every Catch Control includes free access to Solar Analytics, giving you:

  • Live performance tracking

  • Detailed usage and savings data

  • Plan Optimiser to match you to the best energy deal

  • Battery calculator to help size your future battery for max ROI

If you’re considering a battery or want to make sure your solar system is ready for the next wave of energy innovation, CATCH Control is the answer.

With CATCH Power, your solar system becomes more than just panels – it becomes a smart energy ecosystem, future-proofed for changing rules and built to your savings.
