3 HOURS OF
FREE POWER?

"It's not just about having solar, it's about making the most of every opportunity."

Electricity plans are changing and some retailers are now offering up to three hours of free electricity each day. The Monocle, can automatically make the most of these periods by controlling loads during these periods.

If you have a CATCH Control device on the latest software, you could take advantage of our our 3 for Free features.

PUTS YOUR
FREE POWER TO WORK

Heat Your Hot Water
Connected hot water systems will be turned on during your free power period

Charge Your Battery
During the free power period, your battery wont discharge but will charge from the grid preserving your stored energy for later.

Charge Your EV
Your EV will switch from Solar Tracking to grid charging during the free period.

HOW IT WORKS

SET IT ONCE
LET CATCH DO THE REST.

1. Open Monocle

Open the Monocle app and navigate to the Markets tab.

2. Enable 3 Hours of Free Power

Turn on 3 Hours of Free Power to activate the feature.

Only one Markets feature can be active at a time, so enabling Free Power will mean other market control options cannot operate at the same time.

3. Check Your Free Power Times

Make sure the start and finish times shown in Monocle match the free power period offered by your electricity retailer.

If they don't, simply edit the times to match your energy plan.

4. Set Your Electricity Allowance

Some retailers apply a fair-use allowance, limiting how much electricity you can use for free during the free power period. Additional charges or other conditions may apply if you exceed this allowance.

Enter your plan's allowance into Monocle and CATCH will help manage the connected loads it can control to stay within this amount.

Remember, CATCH cannot control other household appliances such as your washing machine, dryer or oven, so their electricity use will still contribute to your total.

5. Set Your Site Import Limit

Your Site Import Limit is separate from any DNSP or network limits configured for your property.

During a free power period, several high-energy loads may operate at the same time. For example, your battery could be charging while your hot water and other household appliances are running. If solar production suddenly drops due to cloud cover, the amount of electricity being drawn from the grid can increase quickly.

Setting a Site Import Limit gives CATCH another level of control, allowing it to adjust compatible connected loads to help keep the property's total grid import below the limit you've selected.

Important: This setting does not replace your property's electrical protection devices or any DNSP/network limits configured during commissioning.

WHY IT MATTERS

The Energy Market is Still Evolving.

Free power periods are just one example of how quickly the way we buy, use and manage electricity is changing. New tariffs, dynamic pricing, flexible exports and new ways to reward customers for when they use or export energy are continuing to emerge.

A system designed around CATCH Power gives you the flexibility to adapt as those changes arrive.

Rather than your solar, battery, hot water and EV operating independently, CATCH provides a central layer of energy management that can evolve with the market and help you take advantage of new opportunities as they become available.

Because we don't know exactly what the energy market will look like in five years, but your energy system should be ready for what comes next.
